A Florida man who led Coralville police on a foot chase after abandoning his vehicle has been charged.

According to reports, around 7:45 Tuesday night 33-year-old Marshall Hudson of Oakland Park and another unidentified person reportedly fled officers in a fully marked police car with emergency lights and sirens activated. After Marshall’s 2020 Chevy Equinox traveled about a block and a half, the vehicle was abandoned in the Coralville city hall parking lot.

Both Hudson and the other person allegedly then fled on foot from officers, ignoring commands to stop. One officer involved in the chase slid on the ice while attempting to apprehend Hudson, causing an injury. Hudson was reportedly caught a few seconds later.

Hudson has initially been charged with interference with official acts causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to one year if convicted.
