Charges have been filed against an Iowa City man relating to a drug bust last year that netted over a pound of marijuana.

Iowa City Police conducted a search warrant on the Cross Park Avenue apartment of 19-year-old Veondre Dillon on the morning of May 28th, 2020. Investigators seized 477 grams of marijuana, or just over one pound. They also confiscated packaging materials and a large quantity of U.S. currency.

Police say Dillon claimed the marijuana as his, and admitted to selling it on an ongoing basis. He was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 6:15 Saturday night and charged with a Controlled Substance Violation and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
