Authorities are investigating the death of a 21-year-old Iowa State student who was found unconscious in the parking lot of an Ames sorority house.
The Ames Police Department responded to a medical call at 9:49 a.m. Friday at the Delta Delta Delta Sorority after a caller reported finding the woman. later identified as 21-year-old Olivia Chutich.
The city said in a news release that Chutich was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say there does not appear to be a threat to the community.
Chutich is daughter of Allina Health CEO Dr. Penny Wheeler and Minnesota State Supreme Court Justice Margaret Chutich.
The case remains under investigation.
