A Springville Iowa man has been taken into custody on a warrant stemming from an October storage facility burglary.

Police say the incident occurred at Blue Lagoon Storage on Commercial Drive in Iowa City the evening of October 19th. Surveillance video reportedly shows 31-year-old Timothy Williams entering the facility in a pickup with a female passenger. They allegedly took one of the security cameras, and broke into two separate storage units on the property.

Williams is seen on the video using a crowbar to enter the units while the female acting as a lookout. Management at the facility told police that the two caused over $2200 in damage.

Williams’ probation officer was shown the video, and he reportedly believed Williams to be the one breaking into the units.

An arrest warrant was issued on December 9th. Williams was booked into the Johnson County Jail at 11pm Thursday and is charged with 2nd degree Criminal Mischief and 3rd degree Burglary. If convicted on the charges, he could be sentenced to up to ten years in prison.
