A Coralville woman was taken into custody after an alleged assault on her sister.

Police were called to the family home on Lyncrest Drive Tuesday around 4am, where 23-year-old Shanna Iglehart and her sister reside. Arriving officers were met by the girls’ mother, who said that the two were physically fighting.

The sister told police that Iglehart was intoxicated and spilled hot sauce on the stairs leading to the basement. When Iglehart refused to clean up the mess, her sister grabbed her arm to attempt to get her to do so. The sister fell, as did Iglehart, who hit her head on a table. Iglehart then took that action as her sister wanting to fight, and the altercation continued.

The sister accused Iglehart of telling her that she wanted to kill her as they fought.

Police tried to talk to Iglehart, but she was reportedly uncooperative. She attempted to push an officer out the door and told them all to leave. She allegedly refused to obey officer commands and was detained. Iglehart pulled away as she was being handcuffed.

She was charged with Domestic Assault Causing Injury and simple Domestic Assault. If convicted on both charges, Iglehart could be sentenced to up to 13 months in jail.
