A Cedar Rapids man convicted in an Iowa City forgery case is back behind bars after allegedly failing to appear at a probation revocation hearing.
33-year-old Simmeon Humbles was convicted of Forgery in 2014 after presenting a forged check at the Iowa City Fast Cash location on 1st Avenue. The check, written for $740.23, was allegedly from a Cedar Rapids Walgreens. Upon inspection, the check was proven to be fictitious. The address listed was not a Walgreens location, and the routing information was false.
The nature of the probation violation is not listed in online records. Police say Humbles skipped a revocation hearing set for October 19th. Online records show he has four previous probation violations.
