CRPD investigating shooting that left 1 injured

Cedar Rapids Police are investigating a Thursday night shooting that left one man injured.

According to a CRPD news release, a 34-year-old male showed up with a gunshot wound to the leg at 1581 1st Avenue East at 10:20pm. Arriving officers provided medical treatment. The victim and a witness said the shooting happened on the 400 block of 18th Street SE. Officers processed the crime scene and spoke with residents. The incident remains under investigation.
