Damaging a car window with a bag of ice has led to charges against an Iowa City man.
Iowa City Police were called to the parking lot of Eastdale Plaza on 1st Avenue just after 1am Wednesday for a fight in progress. An investigation determined that 25-year-old Olin Knight, who lives about a block away, saw two people involved in an altercation. When one of the two people tried to leave in his car, Knight used his hand and a bag of ice to shatter one of the windows.
Knight later admitted to swinging at the window multiple times. He’s charged with 5th Degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 30 days in jail.
Estimated damage to the window is $200.
