The University of Iowa has released its latest COVID-19 numbers.

According to a Wednesday update, nine new cases have been reported among students since Monday and three among UI employees. That’s a total of 2,065 student cases and 63 employee cases since the fall semester began.

One residence hall student is currently under quarantine and three are in self-isolation. That’s down from three in quarantine and four in self-isolation on Monday. Quarantine is used to keep someone who might have been exposed to COVID-19 away from others, while self-isolation is used to separate people infected with the virus from people who are not infected.
