A downtown Iowa City bar and restaurant will have its liquor license suspended for two days after being cited by the state of Iowa for COVID-19 safety violations.
As part of a settlement with the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division, Bo James on East Washington Street will close from 6am on Sunday, October 25th to 6am on Tuesday, October 27th.
According to an earlier news release from the division, on or about August 28th Bo-James failed to comply with Governor Kim Reynolds’ August 27th Proclamation of Disaster Emergency by failing to ensure at least six feet of physical distance between each group or individual dining or drinking alone; failing to ensure that all customers who were served alcoholic beverages were also served food; and/or failing to ensure that all patrons were seated at a table, booth or bar while consuming their food and beverages.
