The University of Iowa has released its latest COVID-19 numbers.

According to a Friday update, 11 new cases have been reported among students in the last week and three among UI employees. That’s a total of 2,005 student cases and 48 employee cases since the fall semester began.

Four residence hall students are under quarantine and 11 are in self-isolation. Quarantine is used to keep someone who might have been exposed to COVID-19 away from others, while self-isolation is used to separate people infected with the virus (those who are symptomatic and those with no symptoms) from people who are not infected.
