Iowa City Police investigate shooting that left one person injured

Iowa City Police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured.

According to an ICPD news release at approximately 9:55 am Sunday officers responded to a report of a gunshot heard near the 1100 block of Oakcrest St. Upon arrival, investigating officers located a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The female was transported to the hospital for treatment. There is no indication that the public is at risk.

No arrests have been made and this incident is under investigation.

The ICPD is asking for the public’s help to identify anyone involved with this incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact Sergeant Jerry Blomgren at 319-356-5276.
