The Big Ten released its 2020 football schedule on Saturday.
Iowa opens the season on the road at Purdue the weekend of October 24th. The Hawkeyes’ first home game is on Halloween weekend against Northwestern.
Iowa then hosts Michigan State the weekend of November 7th, travels to Minnesota November 14th and Penn State November 21st, hosts Nebraska on Thanksgiving weekend, heads to Illinois December 5th and hosts Wisconsin December 12th.
Each Big Ten team will play a ninth game the weekend before Christmas. Along with the Big Ten championship, teams will play the corresponding teams from the opposite division depending on where they finished in the regular season standings.
Some Big Ten games will be moved to Fridays. Friday games will be announced at a later date.
Games will be played on campuses with no fans in attendance other than family members. Big Ten officials say that policy could change later in the season.
The Big Ten presidents and chancellors originally planned to play this season in the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but changed course earlier this week after being presented data showing how a season could be played relatively safely.
