Iowa City Police have released the identities of two people found dead in their home on Tuesday.
A Friday news release says the two were identified as 45-year-old Latoya Patrice Smith and 49-year-old Floyd Lowell Rush, both of whom lived at the residence.
According to an earlier news release, at about 8:35 p.m. Tuesday emergency responders were dispatched to the 100 block of Aniston Street for a report of an unconscious female in the residence. Upon their arrival, Smith and Rush were found deceased inside the house.
The deaths are being treated as suspicious. An earlier news release from the ICPD initially identified Smith and Rush as “victims”. That description was retracted in a later news release.
