An Iowa City man was arrested on a warrant stemming from a May incident when he allegedly stole a man’s wallet and attempted to use his ATM card.

According to police, 49-year-old Tyrice Davis was in possession of a man’s credit card without authorization, and attempted to use the card at the Hills Bank & Trust branch on Muscatine Avenue May 15th. Banking records show the attempts happened at 6am, then 13 minutes later. Video surveillance shows Davis trying to use the stolen card.

The man knows Davis and was allegedly at Davis’ residence prior to determining that his wallet had been stolen.

A warrant was issued for Davis’ arrest, and he was booked at the Johnson County Jail Tuesday afternoon. He’s been charged with Unauthorized Use of A Credit Card and Identity Theft. If convicted on both charges, Davis could be sentenced to a prison term of up to four years.
