UI Health Care urges residents to double down on COVID 19 mitigation

Saying that COVID-19 will never end until everyone follows safety practices, University of Iowa Health Care is urging everyone to double down on coronavirus mitigation.

In a press release Thursday, they urge anyone experiencing COVID symptoms like fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat and the like to go to the UIHC website for a risk-check. (it can be accessed at www.uihc.org/check-your-covid-19-risk-online ).

The email urges members of the public, especially in the most recently hardest-hit group aged 18-25 years, to practice the three Ws: Wear your mask, Wash your hands, Watch your distance.

The three Cs to avoid are Closed spaces, Crowded spaces, and Close contact.

CEO Suresh Gunasekaran the practices are necessary, “no matter how inconvenient they may be.”
