The City of North Liberty is recommending a small number customers, from 215 and 220 S Chestnut St. to the south, boil their water before using it for drinking or to use an alternative source.
The affected customers have already received knocks on their door as well as door hangers. No other customers are affected. Ongoing testing, which takes at least 72 hours, will be used to confirm the advisory can be lifted.
The advisory is in effect because of a water main break on Tuesday. Due to the potential for bacterial contamination, it is being recommended that the water be boiled before using for drinking or cooking or that an alternative source be used.
