Coralville Police have arrested a man they say threatened a woman staying in one of the city’s hotels.

59-year-old Michael Lee Young, who police believe resides in Marion, was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 5:30 Saturday morning. Young had been given a harassment warning for a previous incident with the alleged victim on May 6th.

Just after 2:30am on May 17th, Young allegedly called the woman while she was staying at the Super 8 by Wyndham on 1st Avenue, harassing her and threatening to physically assault her and her significant other.

Young allegedly called the woman again just before 3am the next day, this time allegedly stating “that MFer is going to be dead” and “I’m going to kill him.”

Young is charged with 1st Degree Harassment and 3rd Degree Harassment. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of 25 months behind bars.

Young was released from custody at 3:15 Saturday afternoon.
