An Iowa City man who allegedly assaulted a victim in early July at Town and Campus Apartments has been arrested.

Officers received a report of a fight in the parking lot of the complex July 3rd at around 8pm. Witnesses described a man getting his head stomped on while he was on the ground. One of the alleged assailants was identified as 54-year-old Victor Hall of Shamrock Place in Iowa City.

Hall, with another person, is accused of assaulting the victim without cause by punching and elbowing him in the head. He also allegedly held the victim on the ground while the other attacker stomped on the victim’s head.

The man suffered injuries that included a large contusion on his left eye.

A warrant was issued for Hall’s arrest, and he was booked at the Johnson County Jail Sunday around 4:30pm. He’s been charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a serious misdemeanor that is punishable by a maximum jail sentence of one year if convicted.

A no-contact order was requested between the victim and Hall.
