A Coralville resident boating on the Reservoir Sunday afternoon was taken into custody after officers found him with a large amount of marijuana.
Arrest reports indicate that a law enforcement officer approached a boat on the Coralville Reservoir at 4:30pm to check for alcohol consumption, and allegedly detected a strong odor of marijuana. They made contact with 26-year-old Emin Dizdar of 21st Avenue Place, who admitted to having marijuana, and produced a jar containing a large amount of the intoxicant. He also reportedly had a pipe to smoke the substance.
A check of Dizdar’s records showed three previous convictions for possession of a controlled substance. He was charged with the offense again, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a prison sentence of up to two years if convicted.
