Allegedly attacking partygoers with a running circular saw has led to a North Liberty man’s arrest.

According to arrest records, Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence on Mehaffey Bridge Road behind Club 76 just before 10:45pm Saturday.  Witnesses told investigators 40-year-old Nathan Davis of South Dubuque Street was at a party with friends that included his ex-girlfriend. The situation got out of hand, and the homeowner asked Davis to leave. That’s when Davis allegedly grabbed a cordless circular saw, turned it on and charged at his ex-girlfriend.

The homeowner was able to knock Davis down, get the saw away from him and hold him until deputies could arrive.

Davis is charged with Domestic Abuse Assault While Displaying a Weapon. If convicted, he faces a maximum of two years in prison.
