Cedar Rapids high school students will only be on campus two days a week with three days of online education.
The plan was revealed Monday during a community feedback session, according to the Cedar Rapids Gazette.
Students will be split into two groups based on the first letter of their last name. The first group, with students having the last name initials A through M will be on campuses Mondays and Tuesdays, while M through Z students will take in-person learning on Wednesdays and Thursdays. All students will learn online on Fridays.
Classes will be offered in blocks of 90 minute sessions. Students can take up to four classes a day.
Students on campus will be required to wear a face mask, provided by the school district.
Officials say the schedule is designed to be flexible and allows for all-online classes if need be.
