The Iowa High School Athletic Association released a statement on Friday indicating fall sports would start on-time.

Despite the recent rise in COVID-19 cases in the state, the IHSAA says first practices for football, cross country, and Class 4A golf will begin on August 10th, as originally scheduled.

The news release says the IHSAA will work with its partners and the state of Iowa government to develop protocols and sports-specific guidance. It will make adjustments as necessary.

A memo on sport guidance will be sent to member schools the week of July 27th.
