A Chicago man has been taken into custody after being accused of stabbing a Coralville man.
According to police, 27-year-old Joshua Lacy went to the victim’s residence on 6th Avenue at 11pm on July 5th. The victim knows Lacy, and exited his apartment to talk to Lacy after he knocked on his door.
The man saw that Lacy was holding a knife, and described it to police as the size of a steak knife. Lacy allegedly told the man that he owed Lacy money, and demanded payment. The man refused Lacy’s request, as he didn’t believe that he owed Lacy anything. That’s when Lacy allegedly stabbed the man in the leg with the knife and fled the scene.
Arriving officers saw the man’s stab wound.
A warrant for Lacy’s arrest was issued on July 9th, and he was taken into custody just before 2:30pm Tuesday. He’s been charged with Going Armed with Intent, a class D felony punishable by a prison sentence of up to five years if convicted.
