Police have extradited two suspects from Kentucky in the Christmas night murder of 30-year-old Gregory Jackson in Coralville.

Jackson was one of three people shot just after 930pm on December 25th on the 900 block of Boston Way.  Arrest records now say that 19-year-old Milton McAbee of Boston Way was the gunman.

McAbee is accused of threatening to kill Jackson in retaliation for an earlier fight between Jackson and McAbee’s father. McAbee then reportedly obtained a gun and went with others to confront Jackson.

Police say McAbee shot Jackson, who died as a result, and allege that he admitted to another person that he fired the gun.

A warrant for McAbee’s arrest was issued in February, and he was taken into custody on February 14th by the Radcliff, Kentucky Police. He was charged with Murder in the First Degree.

18-year-old Elijah McAbee was charged with Aiding and Abetting first degree Murder, and Attempted Murder. He was also taken into custody on the 14th by the Elizabethtown Kentucky police.

The two were brought back to Iowa City Tuesday and booked into the Johnson County Jail. Each could be sentenced to life without parole if convicted.
