Recent increases in coronavirus cases in Johnson County has caused the City of Iowa City to cancel the in-person Farmers Market for the rest of the season.

The Market was supposed to reopen for in-person shopping on July 4th with COVID-19 health and safety precautions in place.

The Online Farmers Market will continue to offer locally-sourced meat, produce and other farm-fresh products. Customers can shop the available products starting at Noon on Tuesdays; orders placed by Noon on Wednesday can be picked up contact-free on Saturday mornings at the Chauncey Swan Parking Ramp. You can set up an account and order your items at www.icgov.org/farmersmarket.

The announcement comes a day after the city announced that the next two Party in the Park events scheduled for this evening and next Thursday have also been cancelled for the same reason.

The city hasn’t yet announced plans for future Party in the Park events.
