A Solon man faces several charges after an early morning traffic stop allegedly turned up methamphetamine.

54-year-old Christopher Hook of Cottage Reserve Road was pulled over by officers just before 1:15am Wednesday in the 900 block of Boston Way after being observed driving without a muffler.

Assisting officers on the stop noticed a clear bag containing a crystal-like substance resembling meth in plain view next to the driver’s seat. When asked if it was methamphetamine, Hook allegedly told them, “Probably.”

A check of his driving record shows his status as barred for being a habitual offender until January 2022, and he was arrested.

A search of Hook reportedly turned up another plastic bag containing a meth-like substance, two glass pipes used to smoke the drug containing burnt residue, and a digital scale found in the vehicle.

Hook was charged with a controlled substance violation, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to affix a drug stamp, and driving while barred. If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to over 32 years in prison.
