A Coralville woman who was arrested on suspicion of OWI faces additional charges after reportedly slipping out of her handcuffs and grabbing the genitals of one of the officers as she resisted having them reapplied.

The incident occurred at about 1:45am Wednesday, when 29-year-old Amanda Davis-Hall of 12th Avenue was stopped at 12th Avenue and Forest Edge Road. She allegedly was observed crossing the roadway’s center line several times and stopped on a marked crosswalk.

Upon contact, Davis-Hall reportedly had slurred speech and smelled of ingested alcohol. She showed impairment on SFSTs, and a breath sample showed a blood/alcohol level of .021 percent. Davis-Hall then allegedly admitted to consuming marijuana and prescription drugs.

As she was being transported to the Johnson County Jail, Davis-Hall reportedly slipped out of her handcuffs, and physically resisted officers attempts to handcuff her. She is also accused of kicking officers and grabbing an officer’s genitals.

Davis-Hall was charged with OWI first offense, and interference with official acts causing bodily injury. If convicted, she could be sentenced to up to two years in prison.
