The University of Iowa is still planning on beginning in-person classes for the fall on August 24th. But the end of the semester will be much like the end of this past spring semester.
On the university’s Coronavirus website, they announced that classes over 50 will be conducted online for the semester, and all classes will move online after Thanksgiving. Final exams will be delivered remotely.
Clinical and other activities will be addressed on a program-by-program basis.
The major difference between the fall and the past spring semester is that residence and dining halls will remain open through the entire semester.
The university is developing a testing plan for students and employees on campus, collaborating with Johnson County Health. Students, faculty and staff will be required to wear face coverings at all times while inside university buildings. The university will provide two cloth masks, two disposable masks, and a face shield to all students faculty and staff as well.
No announcements have been made about online classes for the spring 2021 semester.
A series of forums beginning next week will discuss changes on campus; dates and times are set to be announced Friday.
All current events scheduled at the University of Iowa have either been canceled, postponed or conducted virtually through July 31st.
