An Iowa City man was charged with his second OWI after having a motorcycle mishap about a block from the establishment he was drinking at.

According to arrest reports, 34-year-old Bryan Jones of Upland Avenue was called in after having an accident on 1st Avenue at 6th Street in Coralville at 12:17am Monday. The arriving officer was reportedly told by Jones that he was riding his motorcycle and hit the median, causing him to hit the ground.

Jones had an injury to his left hand as a result, but reportedly complained of no other pain.

As the officer spoke to Jones, he allegedly noticed the odor of alcohol, and Jones reportedly told the officer that he had been drinking at Tailgators, about a block south of the accident.

A PBT showed Jones over the legal limit, and a subsequent Datamaster showed a blood-alcohol content of .182. With a previous OWI conviction in May of 2013, he was charged with his second, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a prison term of up to two years.
