An injured Cedar Rapids bicyclist is looking for the good Samaritan who helped him after a crash.

Jim Zalesky was bicycling on J Avenue under the Interstate 380 bridge around 2:30pm on Tuesday, June 2nd, when he crashed. Zalesky suffered a compound fracture and began bleeding profusely.

Zalesky’s family says a young male in a red car with a female passenger pulled up to help, with the male applying a handful of napkins to the wound to control the bleeding until first responders could arrive. Zalesky’s daughter told KCJJ the man likely saved her father’s life, and she would like to thank him.

If anyone knows the identity of the man in the red car, they can email Zalesky’s daughter at kzaleskyamos@gmail.com.
