A North Liberty woman was chaged with assault after a Saturday morning incident in Iowa City.
Police say the woman victim was visiting at a residence on the 300 block of North Lucas Street at around 4:30 am when 41-year-old Kizzy Little arrived and entered the same residence.
The victim stepped outside for a smoke and discovered that the apartment had been locked by Little. The woman allegedly stated that she still had belongings in the apartment, including her keys and cellphone, Little then reportedly cracked the door open, and the woman attempted to enter, but Little closed the door. The woman attempted to enter again, and Little is accused of grabbing her hair, throwing her to the ground, and hitting her.
Police report the woman suffered a large scratch on her forehead, a black and blue left eye with a small cut, a swollen and scratched chin, and a cut on her right hand. Little allegedly admitted closing the door on the woman but refused to discuss any more details. Little had what appeared to be blood on her jacket, but she told police it was barbeque sauce.
Little was taken into custody and charged with domestic abuse assault causing injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to one year.
Little was previously charged with criminal mischief after allegedly breaking the windshield and driver’s side window of a Coralville man’s vehicle on the 2900 block of Stratford Court on December 17th. She pleaded not guilty in March.
Then on February 22nd of this year, she reportedly got into an altercation with the father of her child on the 900 block of Boston Way. It got to the point where Little is accused of having taken out a stun gun and trying to tase the man. A minor child was unsecured in Little’s vehicle as she allegedly pursued the man to another address. She faces domestic abuse assault with the use of a weapon, child endangerment and going armed with intent charges in that incident. She has pleaded not guilty to those charges.
A case management conference was scheduled for May 28th for both incidents, but no further information is available on the Iowa Courts site.
