An Iowa City man who was arrested last month after an alleged assault on his partner in view of two children was taken into custody again after being seen with the protected party at a restaurant.
According to police, 48-year-old Sean Adams of Rita Lyn Court was involved in the incident on March 31st; an arrest warrant was issued the next day, and he was booked into the Johnson County Jail April 14th.
An officer was conducting a business check at 2 Dogs Pub on Tuesday around 7:30pm and observed Adams sitting down having dinner with the protected party. Adams is not allowed to have contact with the woman due to a judge’s order.
Adams was charged with violation of the no-contact order, and a search incident to arrest reportedly found a medicine bottle with marijuana, his third offense.
If convicted on the possession charge, Adams could be sentenced to up to two years in prison.
