ICPD responds to even more shots fired on Taylor Drive

Iowa City Police are investigating yet another shots fired call on Taylor Drive.

According to an ICPD news release, officers were called to the 1900 block of Taylor Drive at approximately 6:15pm Saturday for multiple reports of several gunshots. Investigators located several shell casings in the street. There was no indication that any people were injured during this incident and no reports of injuries have been made. Case# 2020003171.

No arrests have been made and this incident is under investigation.

Iowa City Police are asking for the public’s help to identify anyone involved with this incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact Sergeant Jerry Blomgren at 319-356-5276.

Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information about this incident, if an arrest is made. All tips and calls are held in strict confidence and anonymity is guaranteed. Individuals providing information are not required to reveal their identity to collect a reward.

Saturday night is just the latest recent incident of shots being fired on or near Taylor Drive. Other reports included the early morning hours of April 20th, the night of April 18th when a Zio Johno’s driver reported being shot at, and multiple other incidents earlier this year.
