An Iowa City man who had been wanted on probation violation charges since 2017 was arrested and taken into custody Thursday afternoon.
Court documents indciate that 23-year-old Raekwon Daqwan Shack of Willow Wind Place was put on probation on two counts of Attempted Burglary from 2015 , and Dominon or Control of a Firearm as a Felon in 2016.
On September 6th, 2017, Shack was arrested in Cook County Illinois for Aggrivated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Reckless Conduct when an off-duty officer stopped in traffic looked in his rearview mirror and saw a man later identified as Shack pointing a gun at him in with his arms locked in a shooting position.
An arrest warrant was issued out of Johnson County on September 11th of that year.
Jail information shows that Shack was taken into custody on the probation violations just before 4pm Thursday, and faces the three charges. If convicted, Shack could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison.
