Terry Trueblood Recreation Area trail now one-way

(City of Iowa City news release)

The Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department is implementing a temporary one-way route on the trail at Terry Trueblood Recreation Area. The clockwise temporary one-way route is for all bikers, walkers, runners, and hikers and will be in effect until social distancing guidelines are lifted.

The change comes amid concerns over a spike in public use and a decrease in social distancing, particularly at Terry Trueblood Recreation Area. The one-way loop is designed to help patrons adhere to the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. In addition to the one-way routes, keeping 6’ distance between all trailer users should still be maintained.

Signage with arrows alerting users of the change will be installed soon. At this time the City of Iowa City continues to promote COVID-19 health and safety directives while keeping public access to its parks and open spaces.
