CR Police make arrests in connection with last week’s Bever Park shooting

Cedar Rapids police have arrested 4 people for violating social distancing guidelines after a shooting incident in Bever Park last week.
Officers were called to the park the afternoon of April 8th, when callers reported a gathering of approximately 20 juveniles involved in a fight. Several gunshots were reportedly fired.
When police, arrived, they found an 18-year-old woman with a non-threatening gunshot wound.
Investigators have arrested four individuals for a Department of Public Health violation, for willingly going to a gathering of more than then people at the park
They include 18-year-old Dewayne Hunt, 19-year-old Brenna Scott, 18-year-old Timiana Taylor, and an unnamed 16-year-old girl. Taylor also faces charges of Disorderly Conduct for engaging in the fight at the park.
No arrests have been made in the shooting.
