A Hope House resident who failed to return to the facility has been located and charged with voluntary absence from custody.

According to reports,  37-year-old Glenn Dickerson Jr. signed out of the facility on April 7th at approximately 8:10am to receive treatment at Prelude in Iowa City.  The day before, his parole officer reportedly made it perfectly clear to Dickerson that once the treatment was completed, he was to return to Hope House.

On April 10th the parole officer contacted Prelude to verify that Dickerson had been admitted for in-patient treatment, and was told that Dickerson left on the 7th at 8:38pm against the advice of staff.

A warrant was filed the afternoon of the 10th; Dickerson was located and booked into the Johnson County Jail Tuesday morning, charged with voluntary absence from custody, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a jail term of up to one year if convicted.
