The University of Iowa community is rallying around students and medical personnel who are in need of funds.
Last month, the school set up a Student Life Emergency Fund to help with issues like housing, food insecurity, travel expenses, technology costs associated with online learning, and other financial challenges.
So far, the fund has raised over $36,000 to help those students.
Another fund was set up to help the front-line providers of care at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, in order to purchase personal protective equipment, food, supplies, pay for child care, and other necessities.
That fund has topped $53,000.
