Johnson County Public Health has a plea for those returning from Spring Break: Self-isolate for two weeks.

That request came in the department’s daily COVID-19 email update Saturday.

County officials say Iowans who have traveled recently for business or spring break vacations, whether internationally or domestically outside of Iowa, should strongly consider self-isolating for 14 days. They say this will support Iowa’s ongoing efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, and limit the introduction of the virus from other points of travel.

As of Saturday Johnson County had 27 reported COVID-19 cases. Six of those have already recovered, are no longer considered infectious, and are now under the same recommendations as the general public.

The most up-to-date numbers on COVID-19 cases statewide by county are available on the Iowa Department of Public Health website at https://idph.iowa.gov/.
