Johnson County Public Health officials say they received no new positive tests for COVID-19 on Friday. Of the 22 positive cases reported as of Friday, six have recovered, are no longer considered infectious, and are now under the same recommendations as the general public.

The county has also issued a reminder that tattoo parlors, salons, barbershops and tanning salons are not required to be closed under the Governor’s emergency declaration.

Owners or managers are encouraged to look for and ask about signs of illness in staff and clients before allowing them inside. Visual signs of illness include cough, sneezing or runny nose. If people are sick or exhibiting signs of illness, they should be asked to go home. Enhanced attention to sanitation and a focus on social distancing—keeping patrons and staff at least six feet apart whenever possible—is also encouraged.

The county also notes that aquatic center facilities must close. An aquatic center is defined as a swimming pool or spa facility which includes multiple water features such as swimming pools, spray pads, lazy rivers and wading pools. This includes aquatic centers located in hotels. Hotel pools and spas not including multiple water features may remain open, but must follow social distancing guidelines—keeping all patrons at least six feet apart whenever possible. As gatherings of more than 10 people in public areas are prohibited, hotel staff must control the number of patrons in the pool area at all times. Swimming pool and spa facilities which are not located in a gym, fitness center or health club are not considered aquatic centers and may remain open but must also follow social distancing guidelines.
