Johnson County Public Health has announced that there are now 22 cases of COVID 19 in the county.
The Iowa Department of Public Health has now broken down the 44 cases of COVID 19, and revealed that there are 25 female and 19 male cases.
Initial reports that the virus strikes mostly the elderly have turned out to be premature, at least in Iowa. While the majority of cases have struck those aged 61 and older, a total of 20, 13 are verified between 41 and 60, and 10 between the ages of 18 and 40. One child aged 17 or younger has come down with COVID 19.
People who are mildly ill with COVID 19 are able to recover at home but are urged not to leave their residence except to get medical care.
Johnson County Public Health stresses that there is no vaccine to protect against the virus and no approved medications to treat it at this point.
The health department reminds everyone who is ill to stay home and isolate from others in their residence until you’re fever-free for three days without the use of medicine that reduces fevers, AND other symptoms have improved, AND at least seven days have passed since your symptoms first appeaered.
