Argument over rent money has led to the arrest of a Coralville man.
According to police, 19-year-old Austen Smiddy, whose address is listed on Oriole Court in Tiffin, was living at the Knollridge Garden Apartments on Holiday Road in Coralville with a roommate. After a dispute over rent money, Smiddy was reportedly asked to move out.
Police say that while Smiddy was moving out the morning of March 15th, he intentionally struck the face of a large flat-screen TV valued at $650.
Smiddy was taken into custody and charged with 4th degree Criminal Mischief, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a jail term of up to one year if convicted.
