Coralville woman facing domestic charges stemming from February incident

A Coralville woman who is accused of threatening her live-in ex husband with a knife last month now faces charges stemming from the incident.
Accoording to police, 32-year-old Kaylin Rhoads and her ex share a daughter together. On the evening of February 27th, Rhoads allegedly threatened the man with a kitchen knife.
Rhoads is accused of advancing towards the man, and stating that she was going to cut him or stab him.
Responders took Rhoads, involuntarily, to the University of Iowa Hospials and Clinics for a psychiatric evaulation.
Police charged Rhoads with Domestic Abuse Assault with the display or use of a weapon, an aggrivated misdemeanor punishable by a prison sentence of up to two years.
A warrant was issued for Rhoads’ arrest on March 4th and was served on Tuesdsay. A preliminary hearing has been set for the afternoon of March 27th, and a no-contact order between the two parties was put into place.
