Allegedly trying to jump out of a window with her baby, then biting the baby’s father on the nose has led to the arrest of an Iowa City woman.
Iowa City Police say 23-year-old Lauren Chapman of Maggard Street tried to jump out of her living room window with her four-month-old child just before 9:45 Friday night. The father of the child and his parents were able to stop Chapman and bring her back inside, although she allegedly responded by assaulting the grandmother and biting the father on the nose, causing cuts to both sides. Police say Chapman then jumped out of a second story window and fled the scene.
Chapman was later arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury and Child Endangerment. If convicted on both charges, she faces a maximum of three years in prison.
