Organizers of the Mission Creek Festival have canceled the April 1-4 event, citing concerns with the coronavirus pandemic, and say they’re looking to regroup and put together an event for late summer or early fall.
In an online statement, Festival executive director Andre Perry said the group had changed course after announcing earlier that the event would go on as planned.
The group said they would release details early next week on the new event and its lineup.
As far as refunds, the statement reads, “As a nonprofit organization navigating a challenging period, we are extremely appreciative of any patron who donates the cost of their ticket in lieu of a refund; however, we understand that is not always financially possible,” and added that information about getting refunds or exchanges for cancelled events will be available at the box office or by e-mail before details are released next week.
SCOPE Productions, the concert booking organization student-run by the University of Iowa, announced on their Facebook page Thursday that they are suspending all spring programming for the time being.
