Iowa City man charged with unauthorized credit card use from 2016

An Iowa City man who was accused of using a stolen credit card at a downtown Iowa City convenience store back in 2016 has been arrested.

Authorities say that 46-year-old Sedrick Lewis of Aber Avenue used the victim’s credit card without permission after allegedly stealing it. He used the card on November 11^th 2016 at the East Burlington Street Kum & Go and made a purchase totaling just over $240.

A warrant was issued on July 1^st of last year; the warrant was served on Lewis at the Johnson County Jail Wednesday. A preliminary hearing was set for March 23^rd; if convicted on the charge of Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card under $1000, Lewis could be sentenced to up to two years in prison.
