Iowa City man charged with unauthorized credit card use from 2016

An Iowa City man who was accused of using a stolen credit card at a downtown Iowa City convenience store back in 2016 has been arrested.

Authorities say that 46-year-old Sedrick Lewis of Aber Avenue used the victim’s credit card without permission after allegedly stealing it. He used the card on November 11th 2016 at the East Burlington Street Kum & Go and made a purchase totaling just over $240.

A warrant was issued on July 1st of last year; the warrant was served on Lewis at the Johnson County Jail Wednesday. A preliminary hearing was set for March 23rd; if convicted on the charge of Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card under $1000, Lewis could be sentenced to up to two years in prison.
