An inmate at the Iowa Medical Classification Center has been charged after allegedly assaulting a corrections officer there.
Staff at the IMCC report that on the morning of February 11th, 25-year-old Armanni Woods reportedly assaulted a correctional officer, causing injuries serious enough to warrant transportation to an area hospital emergency room.
The officer was treated for lacerations requiring stitches and other unspecified injuries.
A warrant was issued and presented to Woods on February 20th. Wednesday, a preliminary hearing was set for March 23rd at 2pm. If convicted on the charge, Woods could be sentenced to up to five years in prison.
