An over 40-year tradition in Cedar Rapids on St. Patrick’s Day will take a break due to the spread of novel coronavirus.
KCRG TV reports that the annual SaPaDaPaSo parade has been cancelled.
In a statement from Carol Bryant, president of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Society, organizers made the decision based on the current health situation, and believe it’s the responsible decision. Entry fees paid by parade participants will be refunded.
The organization fully expects to hold the SaPaDaPaSo parade, which began in 1976, again in 2021.
