A North Liberty man faces charges that he attacked a woman with a television and an end table.
North Liberty Police were called to an apartment on North Front Street just after 3am Sunday for a domestic disturbance. Arriving officers met 37-year-old Kortez Ballard outside his residence. Ballard allegedly showed multiple signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking.
An investigation determined that Ballard had assaulted a woman inside his apartment using a TV and an end table. The woman suffered abrasions on her arm and abdomen. Several children were present at the time of the alleged attack.
Ballard is charged with Domestic Abuse Assault – 3rd or Subsequent Offense, Child Endangerment and Public Intoxication. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of over seven years in prison.
